A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
HPB (Hrvatska poštanska banka), the largest Croatian‑owned bank, was struggling with slow legacy storage that impeded daily batch processing, limited disaster‑recovery replication, and drove up backup and maintenance costs. To meet strict requirements for asynchronous replication, snapshots, dynamic tiering, deduplication and multipath support, HPB selected Hitachi Vantara and its Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (along with Hitachi Data Protection Suite and related software) after a competitive procurement.
Hitachi Vantara, working with local partner Computech, delivered and migrated HPB to the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform and accompanying software stack within the planned 90‑day window, consolidating multitier storage, enabling deduplicated backups to the DR site and improving backup and replication capabilities. The deployment cut daily batch operations by more than 25%, improved reliability and performance, lowered total cost of ownership and maintenance, and left HPB positioned to expand Hitachi Vantara backup and archiving services.
