A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Credit Union Australia (CUA), Australia’s largest customer-owned financial institution, needed big‑bank quality infrastructure to support growth, comply with new banking requirements, and analyze rising volumes of structured and unstructured data. To replace an inflexible, oversized system and enable disaster recovery and better data insight, CUA selected Hitachi Vantara to deliver an enterprise storage and platform upgrade using Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform, Hitachi Unified Storage and Hitachi Content Platform.
Hitachi Vantara implemented a three‑site solution with synchronous replication, upgraded data center and compute environments, and managed the migration with just two planned six‑hour weekend outages, maintaining front‑end services even during floods and data center moves. The deployment delivered measurable results — 99.98% planned service availability, secure replication across three locations, faster access to big‑data insights and a scalable, tiered storage roadmap — enabling CUA to protect data, expand services and compete with larger banks.
