A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Huaxi Securities, the largest securities company in West China with about 3,000 employees and nearly RMB 200 billion in assets under management, faced an aging IT estate spread across five data centers, severe space and power constraints, and strict cost-control requirements as it prepared for market recovery. To virtualize its environment and improve performance without compromising reliability, Huaxi Securities selected Hitachi Vantara and its Hitachi Unified Compute Platform for VMware vSphere.
Hitachi Vantara implemented UCP for VMware vSphere with 12 CB 500 chassis (96 CB520H blade servers), integrating the solution with the existing Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform, Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning, storage plugins for VMware vCenter, and Hi-Track monitoring—completed within a month. The deployment now runs most services, doubled server density in a rack (from 12 physical to 24 virtual), delivered about US$100K per year in rent savings, improved energy efficiency and real-time analytics, and tightened overall cost control.
