High-Reliability Hitachi Storage Provides a Foundation for Innovative Financial Services at Alior Bank

Alior Bank S.A., a fast‑growing Polish bank known for rapid rollouts like Alior Sync (now T‑Mobile Usługi Bankowe), needed to modernize its storage to support 24/7 availability and the surge in online services and transactions. To address this, the bank engaged Hitachi Vantara and deployed Hitachi Unified Storage VM and Hitachi Unified Storage 130 (backed by Hitachi Accelerated Flash and Hitachi Command Suite) to replace and consolidate older systems.

Hitachi Vantara implemented four HUS VM systems (including flash‑based arrays), HUS 130 with NAS deduplication, and centralized management via Command Suite, with integration support from Wasko S.A. The solution delivered high reliability (no storage failures in 6+ years), enabled dynamic tiering and consolidation of legacy arrays, provided strong performance for critical applications, and reduced storage requirements by approximately 60% through deduplication—ensuring continuous, high‑performance access to customer services.
