Coop Group, a leading retail, wholesale, and food production company in Switzerland, needed to keep fresh food moving through its 14 distribution centers with speed and reliability while managing rapidly growing data volumes. To support its logistics, forecasting, and analytics operations, Coop worked with Hitachi Vantara and expanded its storage infrastructure to handle mission-critical SAP, VMware, and backup workloads.

Hitachi Vantara implemented a standardized, single-vendor storage environment built around Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform VSP 5500 all-flash systems, along with NAS, archiving, and disaster recovery components such as HCP and Universal Replicator. The result was faster analytics for forecasting and order planning, improved business continuity, and quicker recovery; Coop can restart SAP HANA within 30 minutes and has reduced business risk while simplifying operations and boosting reliability across its retail network.
