A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Wasu Digital TV Media Group, operator of China’s largest digital content library with millions of hours of media and services to tens of millions of terminals, faced massive data growth, HD‑size file limits and complex management and performance bottlenecks. Hitachi Vantara was engaged to address these needs using Hitachi NAS Platform 3090 and Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2500 hardware and file/content solutions.
Hitachi Vantara implemented an HNAS 3090 cluster with a 256 TB file system and cluster namespace (scalable to 8 PB and linear scaling to four nodes) backed by AMS 2500 arrays with active‑active controllers, multicore processors and FPGAs to separate data movement and management. The deployment eliminated multiple mount points, reduced operation and maintenance workload, improved concurrent access and sustained performance, and delivered high availability (99.999%) while enabling Wasu to support continued HD content growth.
