Heilan Group, a leading apparel retailer and manufacturer in China, faced declining sales as e‑commerce disrupted the market and its legacy SAP BW/HANA analytics proved costly, closed and unable to analyze product, price, competitor and user‑experience data to support digital transformation. To modernize its analytics and support integrated online‑offline retail and future AI/IoT plans, Heilan Group engaged Hitachi Vantara and adopted Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics alongside Hitachi Content Platform storage.
Hitachi Vantara implemented a full end‑to‑end data analysis platform—using Pentaho for data integration, pipelines and analytics and Hitachi Content Platform G10/S10 for scalable storage—creating a data lake with cold/warm/hot tiers and self‑service data marts. The solution accelerated data analysis and application development, improved analysis of price, product and competition, reduced development costs and boosted big‑data utilization, making analytics automated and controllable and helping Heilan Group sharpen marketing, product design and operating income.
