A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a large 3-A hospital with about 2,400 beds and roughly 9,000 outpatient visits per day, faced urgent limits in PACS storage capacity, poor utilization, weak data protection and complex disaster recovery across separate HIS and PACS platforms. To modernize its storage and support growing imaging workloads, the hospital selected Hitachi Vantara and engaged Hitachi Data Systems Global Services to deploy a unified healthcare storage platform using Hitachi NAS Platform 3080, Hitachi Unified Storage (HUS 130 and HUS 110), Hitachi TrueCopy and Hitachi Content Platform.
Hitachi Vantara implemented a three‑phase solution—PACS capacity expansion, synchronous mirroring for database protection, and automated HCP archiving via HNAS tiering—delivering unified SAN/NAS access, cross‑platform disaster recovery and automated lifecycle management. The deployment removed storage bottlenecks, improved capacity utilization and high‑performance PACS access, reduced backup pressure and lowered TCO, enabling the hospital to reliably support its millions of annual treatments and provide scalable, future‑ready storage.
