Grupo Eulen Replaces Basic Reporting With Pentaho

Grupo Eulen, a global services provider operating in 14 countries, needed an enterprise-wide reporting and analysis solution to replace the limited reporting of its legacy SAP and AS/400 systems. The company required an open-source, easy-to-learn platform for non-technical and international users that could integrate with SAP and other data sources and provide granular views across growing volumes of data. Hitachi Vantara’s Pentaho Business Analytics and Pentaho Data Integration were chosen to meet these needs.

Hitachi Vantara implemented Pentaho Data Integration to consolidate SAP, Excel, CSV and proprietary application data (about 4 TB) and Pentaho Business Analytics to deliver roughly 100 fixed dashboards plus self-service ad hoc reporting. Deployed on Red Hat Linux with PostgreSQL across two servers, the solution is stable, scalable and now used by more than 1,000 employees (70 daily power users) across Spain, Portugal and Mexico. Hitachi Vantara’s commercial open-source model made it easy to add users, improve decision-making with granular, role-based views, and support planned expansion to more countries and data sources.
