Global IT Services Provider Consolidates Data and File Servers With Enterprise-Class Hitachi Storage Solution

iGATE, a global IT services provider with three locations in India, faced server proliferation and rising complexity from 12 Microsoft Windows file and data servers—driving higher energy use, management overhead and risk of downtime. To address this, iGATE engaged Hitachi Vantara and selected Hitachi Unified Storage VM and Hitachi NAS Platform 3080 (with HNAS clusters) to consolidate and modernize its file storage environment.

Hitachi Vantara deployed HUS VM and HNAS 3080 clusters with Global Solution Services to centralize iGATE’s file servers, using dynamic provisioning, intelligent tiering, virtualization, replication and deduplication. The consolidation reduced physical servers (from 12 disparate systems), reclaimed storage capacity, lowered energy bills and total cost of ownership, improved performance and data recovery, and delivered scalable capacity (up to 2PB) to support future growth.
