Garanti BBVA Harnesses Automation To Make Storage Management Easy

Garanti BBVA, Turkey’s second-largest private bank, needed to simplify highly complex storage operations in a regulated, always-on environment. Its IT team was spending too much time on manual provisioning, replication, and monitoring tasks, so it turned to Hitachi Vantara and the Hitachi Ops Center portfolio to reduce operational overhead and free staff for more strategic work.

Hitachi Vantara implemented Hitachi Ops Center Administrator, Protector, and Analyzer to automate storage management across Garanti BBVA’s Virtual Storage Platform environment. The bank cut replication configuration time from 3 hours to 15 minutes, improved reliability by replacing hand-coded scripts with UI-based automation, gained real-time KPI monitoring and alerts, and has maintained zero unplanned downtime in its distributed systems landscape for five years.
