FHS St. Gallen Looks To Improve Exchanging Data

FHS St. Gallen, the largest university of applied sciences in eastern Switzerland, needed to integrate CampusCard transaction data (cafeterias, printers, vending machines and POS) with its ERP system and produce timely reports for multiple cost centers without time‑intensive manual processes. To address this challenge the university turned to Hitachi Vantara, deploying Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics.

Hitachi Vantara used Pentaho Data Integration to build an automated interface and daily ETL schedules (with LDAP‑based user management) and Pentaho Business Analytics to deliver predefined reports, self‑service analytics and dashboards. The result is a fully automated reporting pipeline—scheduled ETL jobs, system-wide connectivity, and reports emailed to cost centers and an external caterer—eliminating manual data exchange, speeding analysis, and improving operational efficiency.
