Ensuring the availability of critical communications across Estonia

Elisa Eesti, one of Estonia’s largest telecommunications providers, needed a more resilient and scalable storage infrastructure to support mission-critical communications and keep up with 10–20% annual data growth. Working with Hitachi Vantara, the company planned a refresh of its aging Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform environment to maintain high availability and improve efficiency.

Hitachi Vantara implemented two Hitachi VSP E790 all-flash arrays alongside existing VSP F350 systems, with synchronous replication using global-active device (GAD) across two data centers and management through Ops Center tools. The result was 100% data availability, a threefold improvement in energy efficiency, and meaningful rack space savings, helping Elisa Eesti reduce power consumption and support future service growth.
