Elektronnaya Moskva Manages Millions of Files With Hitachi File, Content and Flash Solution

Elektronnaya Moskva, a Moscow-based provider of integrated IT services that runs a unified e‑document system for more than 60,000 active users and over 140 million files, needed to simplify and speed up file directory management and reduce backup times as unstructured data volumes grew. To modernize its environment it engaged Hitachi Vantara to deliver file-and-content and flash-based storage—deploying Hitachi Unified Storage 150, Hitachi NAS Platform 4060, Hitachi Accelerated Flash and Hitachi Tuning Manager.

Hitachi Vantara implemented a clustered HUS 150 with two HNAS 4060 servers, tiered file system (TFS), accelerated flash for metadata, and monitoring via Tuning Manager to optimize NFS access, automate load balancing and simplify backups. The Hitachi Vantara solution expanded capacity to about 150 TB while supporting tens of millions of files, reduced flat-directory file‑listing time from 36 hours to 4 hours (9× faster), streamlined backups and system management, and allowed monthly data growth without degrading performance.
