DBS Bank, a leading financial services group in Asia, needed to upgrade its managed storage environment to keep up with rapid storage growth, rising costs, service level gaps, and strict Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) compliance requirements. The bank also wanted to improve business continuity and speed up delivery of new applications, while managing a mixed storage landscape across regional offices. Hitachi Vantara was brought in to address these challenges with an EverFlex managed storage services approach.

Hitachi Vantara redefined DBS Bank’s storage capacity needs and implemented a fully on-premise managed storage solution aligned to local regulatory requirements. The result was a comprehensive, cost-effective end-to-end storage service with improved service levels, high availability and resiliency, and a migration methodology that supported regional expansion across China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Singapore. Hitachi Vantara also secured a 5-year contract valued at approximately $15 million USD, helping protect DBS Bank’s investment with its technology roadmap.
