Credit Information Bureau (Biuro Informacji Kredytowej - BIK) in Poland faced growing delays serving tens of thousands of daily lender queries—some credit reports took 12 seconds or more to generate—so it sought to cut response times to under five seconds for 95% of inquiries. To meet this need the Credit Information Bureau engaged Hitachi Vantara and evaluated its flash and virtualization offerings, ultimately selecting Hitachi Unified Storage VM and Hitachi Accelerated Flash to modernize its storage infrastructure.

Hitachi Vantara deployed two HUS VM systems with Hitachi Accelerated Flash modules (3.2 TB FMDs, 40 TB capacity per system), plus virtualization and management software, enabling reuse of older arrays for noncritical workloads. The result: report-generation times improved fourfold (95% of Oracle queries now complete in under five seconds), average report prep is four times faster, reliable operation with no breakdowns reported for two years, stronger data protection (256-bit AES) and projected lower total cost of ownership.
