A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Changwon Fatima Hospital, a healthcare provider responsible for storing all electronic medical records and critical clinical systems, needed to guarantee 24/7 availability to protect patient safety and maintain its reputation. To address frequent server and storage failures and build a redundant disaster recovery environment, the hospital engaged Hitachi Vantara and deployed Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) systems (VSP G600 all‑flash and VSP G400 unified), the global‑active device feature, and Hitachi Data Instance Director (HDID).
Hitachi Vantara implemented an active‑active, all‑flash storage architecture with global‑active synchronous protection and HDID backup orchestration, delivered via partner Hyosung Information Systems. The result is continuous data access and faster performance: a 24/7 disaster recovery solution, five‑times faster SQL response (from 2 ms to 0.4 ms), roughly four‑times better database response, 7–10× improvement in CPU utilization capacity, lower operating costs, and improved patient care and manageability.
