A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Centris AG, a Swiss IT services provider that operates the Swiss Health Platform and processes invoices for some 3 million insured people, faced rapidly growing data volumes (forecast up to 30× over 3–5 years) that threatened to push its data-warehouse (DWH) run times beyond acceptable limits. To modernize its infrastructure and preserve flexibility with Oracle environments, Centris selected Hitachi Vantara and its Hitachi Unified Compute Platform for Oracle Database (Hitachi Compute Blade and Hitachi Unified Storage 150 with Hitachi Accelerated Flash) after a proof-of-concept evaluation.
Hitachi Vantara implemented a converged compute and modular storage solution tailored to Centris, consolidating multiple DWH servers into a single, scalable system and deploying 150 TB test and 100 TB production environments running in parallel. The result was a massive reduction in process run times, improved forecasted TCO over a five-year period, high stability and customer satisfaction, and greater flexibility for future growth—outcomes achieved through close collaboration between Centris and Hitachi Vantara.
