A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
CDLAN, a Milan-based telecommunications operator serving national and international carriers, ISPs and enterprise customers, needed an enterprise-class storage platform to move into cloud-based IaaS and to support high-speed fiber‑optic access (up to 40Gb/sec and planning for 100Gb/sec). Facing fragmented, on‑demand SCSI storage that couldn’t meet the capacity, performance and scalability requirements of demanding customers, CDLAN engaged Hitachi Vantara to identify and deploy a consolidated storage solution.
Hitachi Vantara implemented Hitachi Unified Storage 150 across CDLAN’s new data centers, consolidating file, block and object storage while delivering features such as automatic load balancing, auto‑tiering, thousands of snapshots and unlimited remote copies for finer recovery granularity and predictable performance. The Hitachi Vantara solution enabled CDLAN to launch fully scalable IaaS offerings, support high‑speed Fibre Channel transport, increase capacity and resilience, and position the company to extend enterprise‑class storage services to medium and small customers.
