A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Bundespolizei, the German Federal Police, faced rapidly growing and fragmented data flows—up to 100,000 data sets per day—stored in Excel and disparate systems that slowed decision-making for border control, airport security, and regulatory reporting. To modernize analytics and meet strict reporting and availability needs, they selected Hitachi Vantara’s Pentaho platform (including Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics).
Hitachi Vantara deployed Pentaho to consolidate and cleanse data from many internal and external sources into a unified data warehouse, automate enrichment and ETL with PDI, and deliver web-accessible analytics with role-based access (Active Directory and Dynamic Schema Processor). The solution met data ingestion and warehousing requirements, improved authorization and onboarding, enabled faster mission planning and workforce scheduling, accelerated reporting to national and EU agencies, and scaled to enterprise use—turning previously unreliable datasets into trusted, timely operational intelligence.
