Brussels Airport - Customer Case Study

Brussels Airport, which houses 260 companies and employs 6,000 workers, needed a more cost-efficient, single information-delivery platform to replace aging Oracle reporting and an IBM ETL tool. Hitachi Vantara delivered a new BI stack using Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics to meet the airport’s requirement for consolidated, affordable reporting and analytics.

Hitachi Vantara’s Pentaho solution replaced the legacy tools and enabled scheduled management reporting, dashboards and ad hoc analysis—replacing Excel-based processes and about 200 scheduled Hyperion reports. The deployment improved agility across finance, commercial, operations and ICT, provided daily Sybase IQ snapshots for consistent reporting, supported iterative development between business users and developers, and delivered estimated cost savings of more than 350,000 euros.
