BOE Technology Group Transforms Operations, Implements a Virtual Desktop Cloud With Hitachi Solutions

BOE Technology Group, a global IoT and display manufacturer, needed to replace thousands of traditional PCs with a scalable virtual desktop cloud that could support 2,200–4,000 desktops, avoid boot-storms, and provide 24/7 high availability and strong data protection. To meet these requirements, BOE engaged Hitachi Vantara and its solutions and services, including Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G600 with flash modules, Hitachi NAS Platform 4060, and the SVOS global-active device feature.

Hitachi Vantara implemented an active‑active VSP G600 cluster with flash modules, SVOS global‑active device, HNAS 4060 for unstructured data, and migration services to centralize and protect BOE’s VDI environment. The deployment delivered continuous availability and centralized data management, achieved zero RPO/RTO, sped VDI start-up by 10x, improved performance and security, simplified operations, and reduced total cost of ownership.
