Asia Capital Reinsurance Group Selects Hitachi Unified Compute Platform Solution to Optimize Performance and Scalability for SAP HANA

Asia Capital Reinsurance Group (Asia Capital Re), a Singapore‑headquartered reinsurance specialist running a broad SAP landscape, faced exponential data growth (from ~500GB in 2007 to 30TB in 2012 and projected to reach ~200TB) and needed a high‑performance, scalable platform to support SAP HANA and near‑real‑time analytics. To address storage, performance and scalability requirements, Asia Capital Re selected Hitachi Vantara’s Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) Select for the SAP HANA platform.

Hitachi Vantara delivered a UCP Select solution (combining Hitachi Compute Blade 2000 and Hitachi Unified Storage 130) that was proven in a POC and deployed to consolidate data warehouses, reduce duplication and enable big‑data analytics. The implementation cut reporting times from days to about 45 minutes, achieved roughly 10× data compression on production data, simplified management so a small storage team can operate efficiently, and lets Asia Capital Re scale capacity by adding blades without disruptive migrations.
