Animex Foods Boosts Productivity with Hitachi’s High Availability Data Storage

Animex Foods, one of Poland’s largest meat producers, needed a more reliable and scalable IT foundation to support its 12 processing plants operating around the clock. Its existing storage environment was too slow and could not be expanded to keep up with growth, putting production continuity, SAP operations, and financial reporting at risk. Hitachi Vantara’s storage and monitoring tools, including Hitachi Ops Center, were brought in to address these challenges.

Hitachi Vantara and implementation partner WASKO deployed a new high-availability storage architecture built around Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform systems, including VSP E590 and VSP E990, along with Hitachi Data Protection Suite and Ops Center. The result was faster month-end reporting, critical database maintenance reduced from 12 hours to minutes, a 4:1 compression and deduplication ratio, and faster backups and recovery. Animex Foods also improved plant reliability and production output, while simplifying storage management through a single console.
