A Hitachi Vantara Case Study
Accident Exchange, part of the AIS Group, needed a way to store and retrieve complete accident-claim data from multiple sources — from call recordings and photos to engineering reports — while meeting strict insurance and financial retention and deletion rules. Facing millions of pieces of evidence across many tens of terabytes and a minimum retention requirement (typically 10 years), Accident Exchange required verifiable, immutable audit trails and fast access for claim handlers. To meet this challenge they turned to Hitachi Vantara and its Hitachi Content Platform (HCP).
Hitachi Vantara implemented HCP object storage so claims applications and call recorders write directly to a single, searchable repository with per-object metadata, twin copies on HCP and remote replication, plus automated retention/expiry and audit logging. The solution delivers an evidence-quality audit trail, simplifies case management for agents, eliminates traditional backups, enables automatic deletion at retention expiry, and reduces storage growth and capital expenditure — allowing Accident Exchange to locate and produce complete claim records in minutes while maintaining regulatory compliance.
