Keeping Critical Trading Systems Online 24/7

Danske Commodities, a leading energy trading company, needed to replace aging storage for mission-critical trading data without disrupting its 24/7 operations. Working with Hitachi Vantara, the company set out to deploy a highly performant and available storage environment for its always-on SQL and trading systems using Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) 1090 and VSP One Block 28 solutions.

Hitachi Vantara implemented an active/active storage architecture with global-active device (GAD) replication, helping Danske Commodities migrate 300TB of data with zero downtime. The new platform delivered 24/7 availability for critical data, strong resilience, and a 7.6:1 compression ratio, enabling the company to expand storage capacity cost-effectively while keeping business operations online.
