Tippett Studio Puts the Magic of Making Movies Into the Hands of Everyday Consumers; Hitachi NAS Platform Stars Behind the Scenes

Tippett Studio, known for award-winning CGI and visual effects, wanted to extend its Hollywood-quality content into mobile apps while keeping pace with huge, fast-growing production data and demanding performance needs. To support its Efexio app and Tippett Creature Shop, the studio turned to Hitachi Data Systems and the Hitachi NAS Platform to manage storage, scalability, and access to its unstructured media files.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented the Hitachi NAS Platform 3080 with Hitachi Command Suite to provide high I/O performance, intelligent file tiering, and centralized data management. The result was more than 250TB of storage managed in a smaller footprint, improved capacity utilization, simpler backup and archiving, faster rendering and file access, and lower storage costs—all while helping Tippett Studio maintain a secure, nimble production environment.
