Solido Hosting Expands Big Data Capability With Hitachi Storage Solution

Solido Hosting, a Danish hosting provider serving major organizations and internet portals, faced explosive data growth and needed a storage solution that could scale quickly while also delivering cost-effective archiving and minimal administration. The company evaluated options and chose Hitachi Data Systems, using Hitachi NAS Platform 3090, Hitachi Unified Storage 150, Hitachi Unified Storage VM, and Hitachi Data Ingestor to support its expanding storage-as-a-service business.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented a unified storage architecture across Solido Hosting’s data centers in Denmark and Luxembourg, enabling separation of metadata and data for better performance and lower storage costs, along with resilient, redundant, high-performance file and content services. The results included support for rapid growth of over 100TB per month for one customer, deployment of 4 HUS 150 systems at 850TB each, and improved scalability, stability, redundancy, and disaster recovery, while also creating a platform for new services such as indexed, searchable remote archiving.
