New Manufacturing Facility Chooses a Hitachi Compute Solution to Integrate IT Infrastructure and Streamline Operations

Birla Cellulose, part of the Aditya Birla Group, was setting up a new manufacturing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat and needed to consolidate and optimize its IT infrastructure. The company wanted a single platform to manage computing, storage, and networking for critical applications like document management, Exchange, warehouse management, and supply chain systems, and it turned to Hitachi Data Systems for an integrated compute and storage solution.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented a solution based on Hitachi Compute Blade 500, Hitachi Unified Storage 110, and Hitachi Command Suite, with support from ITPL. The deployment provided unified management, better storage provisioning, scalability, and improved application performance, while reducing complexity and operational risk. The result was a more efficient, reliable foundation for the new plant’s IT operations and a path to lower costs and better resource utilization.
