M.Video Increases Efficiency and Accuracy of Business Analytics With Hitachi Unified Compute Platform Select for the SAP HANA Platform

M.Video, a major Russian electronics and appliance retailer, was struggling with slow, inaccurate business analytics as rapid growth overwhelmed its existing Oracle-based SAP business warehouse environment. Generating reports could take a day or more, decision-making was delayed by stale data, and manual forecasting and planning processes were inefficient. To address these challenges, M.Video turned to Hitachi Data Systems and its Hitachi Unified Compute Platform Select for the SAP HANA Platform.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented a new SAP HANA analytics platform using Hitachi storage, compute, and networking components to deliver high performance, scalability, and failover protection. The results were significant: report generation became 100 times faster, annual accounts were sped up by a factor of 10, and tasks that once took hours or days were reduced to minutes. M.Video also improved logistics forecasting, reduced data load times by up to 6x, and enabled around 100 users to work with centralized, real-time analytics.
