Infosys Improves Performance and Business User Satisfaction With Hitachi Flash Technology

Infosys, a global consulting, technology, and outsourcing company, needed to boost storage performance as business growth increased demand on its enterprise infrastructure. The challenge was delivering faster response times for critical workloads while keeping costs down and preserving the reliability of its existing environment. Infosys worked with Hitachi Data Systems and used Hitachi flash technology, including Hitachi Accelerated Flash and Dynamic Tiering, to address these requirements.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented flash modules on the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G1000 with virtualization and tiering services to improve performance without disrupting existing storage investments. The result was a major boost in efficiency and user satisfaction: I/O time dropped from more than 7 milliseconds to under 1 millisecond, peak quarter-end application response times fell below 2 milliseconds, and Infosys also gained roughly 4 KVA in power savings.
