HPB Achieves Performance Improvements, Reliability, Risk Mitigation and Cost Reduction With Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform

Hrvatska Poštanska Banka (HPB), Croatia’s largest Croatian-owned bank, was struggling with slow legacy storage that could not keep up with growing business data, daily batch processing, disaster recovery replication, and rising performance and cost demands. HPB evaluated multiple vendors and chose Hitachi Data Systems, including the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform, to support its core banking and backup environment.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform with Hitachi Data Protection Suite and related storage software, with services delivered by partner Computech. The migration was completed within 90 days of delivery, improved storage and backup performance, and shortened daily batch operations by more than 25%, while also reducing total cost of ownership and maintenance costs.
