Hitachi Platform Helps OAO OTKRITIE Brokerage House Consolidate Business-Critical Resources in the Cloud

Otkritie Brokerage House, part of the Otkritie financial group, needed to upgrade its storage infrastructure to better support rapid growth, disaster protection, and easy management for business-critical services. The company chose a cloud solution from Hitachi Data Systems, based on Hitachi NAS Platform and Hitachi Unified Storage, to support its VMware vSphere Metro Storage Cluster environment.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented an active-active, geographically distributed storage solution with synchronous replication and integrated disaster recovery across two data centers. The result was stronger security, flexibility, and performance, lower electricity and hardware costs, and increased virtualization from 30% to 60% within 10 months; the new platform also enabled faster, more predictable failover and improved access to critical services.
