Hitachi NAS Platform Helps Drive the Multimedia Messaging Service Gateway of Hebei Telecom

Hebei Telecom, a state-owned telecom provider in China, needed a highly flexible, scalable, and always-available storage platform for its multimedia messaging service (MMS) gateway. To meet the demands of high-performance, 24/7 MMS operations, it turned to Hitachi Data Systems and the Hitachi NAS Platform (HNAS) 3080 cluster storage solution.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented a dual-node, active-active HNAS 3080 solution with shared file access, redundancy, and scalable storage management. The result was 100% system availability, simplified file access, secure and reliable operations, and support for real-time MMS processing at up to 810 messages per second, with performance of 73,000 IOPS and throughput above 1,100 MB/sec.
