A Hitachi Data Systems Case Study
AO Raiffeisenbank, a major Russian financial institution, was struggling with a growingly complex IT infrastructure that was hard to manage, lacked a unified monitoring tool, and had limited space for expansion in its datacenter. The bank also faced a heterogeneous test and development storage environment, which made data migration difficult and increased backup-related labor costs. It worked with Hitachi Data Systems and used enterprise storage and compute blades to modernize its infrastructure.
Hitachi Data Systems implemented a unified storage platform using Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform, Hitachi Unified Storage VM, Hitachi Command Suite, and Hitachi Tiered Storage Manager. This consolidated the bank’s storage environment, reduced its datacenter footprint, simplified administration, and automated data movement between environments. As a result, AO Raiffeisenbank improved performance, reduced delays, decreased data transfer time, and gained higher storage density and better capacity use within limited floor space.
