CDLAN Chooses Hitachi Storage Technologies to Support and Expand Cloud-Platform-Based Telecommunications Solutions

CDLAN, a Milan-based telecommunications operator, needed a more scalable, high-performance storage foundation to support its new cloud computing and infrastructure-as-a-service offerings. Its earlier storage setup was fragmented and based on simple SCSI protocols, making it harder to deliver enterprise-grade services and consistent performance for demanding customers. CDLAN turned to Hitachi Data Systems and Hitachi Unified Storage 150 to help meet these requirements.

Hitachi Data Systems implemented Hitachi Unified Storage 150 with Hitachi Base Operating System V at CDLAN’s data centers, enabling centralized storage consolidation across block, file, and object data. The solution improved capacity, snapshotting, remote copies, and performance predictability through features like auto-tiering and load balancing. As a result, CDLAN was able to integrate storage into its cloud platform, achieve the required performance, and expand its scalable IaaS services.
