Walmart, one of the world’s largest retailers, needed a modern pre-hire assessment that could support massive high-volume hiring while staying scientifically valid and delivering a strong candidate experience. Working with Hirevue’s Virtual Job Tryout® and custom Retail Associate Assessment, Walmart aimed to improve selection quality, internal mobility, and applicant satisfaction across thousands of daily applicants.
Hirevue helped Walmart build and validate a multimet method assessment grounded in job analysis and supported by large validation studies. The solution delivered strong results: assessment completion rates averaged 95%, nearly all candidates said they would recommend applying to Walmart, and the program generated multi-million-dollar ROI by reducing replacement costs and avoiding poor hires.
