Comcast Corporation - Customer Case Study

Comcast, one of the nation’s largest residential video, internet and phone providers with 31.9 million customer relationships and 190,000 employees, faced a manual, fragmented hiring process across four autonomous divisions that produced high administrative burden and a poor candidate experience. The newly formed Talent Experience team needed a centralized, modern workflow that balanced digital efficiency with human connection and treated applicants—many of whom are also customers—with fairness and respect.

Partnering with Modern Hire, Comcast implemented a Virtual Job Tryout assessment, mobile-first gamified simulations, on-demand and live video interviews, branded candidate content, and automated scheduling integrated with Outlook. The overhaul drove measurable impact: top 20% scorers sold about 10% more (a projected $11M uplift if only top scorers were hired), more than 18,000 on-demand interviews saved ~22,000 review hours, 8,300 candidates self-scheduled cutting scheduling time by 70%, ~$500K in travel costs were avoided, candidate satisfaction exceeded 98%, and Comcast earned industry recognition for its Future of Work initiative.
