A Hirevue Case Study
Bank of America, a global financial institution with roughly 174,000 employees, faced a fragmented hiring experience for call center and operations roles: candidates applying to multiple similar jobs had to complete repetitive assessments, creating disengagement and inefficiency for recruiters. The bank aimed to streamline hiring, boost on-the-job performance, and reduce turnover while improving the candidate experience.
Bank of America partnered with Modern Hire to launch the Universal Fit Pre‑Hire Assessment, a modular, candidate‑centric solution built on Modern Hire’s Virtual Job Tryout that combines core and job‑specific modules, realistic job previews, and rigorous validation across 38 job codes. In the first year it assessed more than 42,000 applicants, cut 4,500 hours of assessment time, delivered nearly 100% of candidates reporting they learned more about the role, produced $6.8M in first‑year new‑hire retention savings, increased new‑hire performance, and earned the HRM Impact Award.
