The MND Association is a UK charity that funds research and supports people affected by Motor Neurone Disease, with over 3,000 volunteers and 150+ employees. Facing a changing volunteer market—more online applicants, micro‑volunteering and a competitive recruitment landscape—the small in‑house team was stretched by manual telephone, email and paper processes. Hireserve donated its e‑recruitment system, iCams, to help manage and modernise volunteer recruitment.

Using Hireserve’s iCams (adopted in 2011) the Association automated enquiries, improved the applicant experience and sped up communications, significantly reducing manual administration. Hireserve’s solution also enabled the MND Association to build a searchable talent pool of specialist and short‑term volunteers, improving retention and recruitment effectiveness while freeing staff time for personalised engagement.
