Loblaw Companies Ltd., Canada’s largest food distributor with more than 1,000 stores and 134,000 employees, needed a faster, more reliable way to alert distribution centers and IT staff about system outages and inventory issues. Manual paging and phone calls were too slow and offered no message-status verification, so Loblaw evaluated options and selected HipLink Software’s HipLink wireless communication software for a scalable, easy-to-implement messaging solution.

HipLink Software deployed HipLink to provide group/department messaging, real-time message-status reporting, and straightforward integration without a complex enterprise rollout. The smooth install eliminated one-at-a-time pages and calls, now supports about 250 users sending roughly 100 messages per day, and reduced average response time to distribution issues to 15 seconds; HipLink’s reporting also tracks carrier/protocol performance and enables planned integration with Remedy Help Desk.
