Yokogawa Electric Corporation, a leading company in Distributed Control Systems, faced the challenge of improving the reliability and uptime of their CENTUM VP production control system for their customers. To meet the need for enhanced redundancy, Yokogawa turned to vendor Hilscher to jointly develop a new PROFINET Communication Module.
By adopting Hilscher's netX-based comX embedded module, Yokogawa implemented a solution supporting PROFINET S2 redundancy. This upgrade from Hilscher improved plant availability and operational efficiency for Yokogawa's customers, achieved Conformance Class B certification, and reduced development time and costs for Yokogawa through the use of Hilscher's standardized hardware and software tools.
