A Hilscher Case Study
Müller+krahmer GmbH, a specialist in test automation, was faced with the challenge of creating test benches for over 300 variants of electro-pneumatic valves. This required a solution that could handle a huge range of device interfaces and protocols, as each test specimen needed individual configuration and testing, a process that was manual, time-consuming, and susceptible to error.
Hilscher implemented its cifX PC card technology, which provides unified interfaces for all industrial formats and protocols. The solution allowed for an automatic change of the bus protocol on the fly, eliminating manual input and hardware switching. This drastically reduced errors, shortened test times, and provided the flexibility to easily integrate future bus protocols, resulting in a more compact, efficient, and cost-effective test bench for the customer.
