A Hilscher Case Study
dieEntwickler Elektronik GmbH, an Austrian hardware and software developer, required a compact, multiprotocol-capable communication controller for a motor controller project that needed to support both PROFINET and EtherCAT networking. The challenge was to develop this versatile solution with low energy consumption and minimal temperature development.
Hilscher provided its netX 90 SoC, which enabled dieEntwickler to quickly create a prototype and pass PROFINET device certification without issues. The solution reduced development effort through a standardized library concept and simplified network design by using the chip's comprehensive on-chip peripherals to consolidate entire control cabinet contents into a single device. This resulted in a significantly shortened time-to-market, a fast return on investment, and reduced wiring effort and susceptibility to errors for their customers.
