China Network Television (CNTV), a major national web-based broadcaster in China, needed to keep services reliable for more than one billion viewers as its traffic, bandwidth demands, and security threats grew. Its existing network equipment could no longer handle the scale or performance requirements, and open-source tools failed to improve efficiency or protect production, office, and development networks.
