bol.com replaces third-party cookies with first-party data to increase CTR by 33%

Bol.com, the largest e-commerce platform in Western Europe, needed a way to replace its reliance on third-party cookies and pixels for retail media targeting. As its advertising business matured, the company wanted to activate the rich first-party data in its warehouse to create more relevant, granular audience cohorts for advertisers. To do that, Bol.com turned to Hightouch and its Customer Studio product.

With Hightouch, Bol.com rebuilt its advertising audiences directly from first-party warehouse data, decommissioned its legacy pixels, and enabled self-serve audience creation for marketing teams. The rollout was completed in about six weeks and delivered a 109% increase in audience reach, a 33% lift in click-through rates for brand ads, and millions of viewable impressions each month.
