Blue Chalk is an award-winning nonfiction production studio with teams in Portland and Brooklyn that creates short-form documentaries and branded content. Their main challenge was bi‑coastal post‑production collaboration: tracking nearly 1,000 Vimeo versions, managing long email threads with imprecise timecode feedback, and needing a better way to iterate on edits and color/music notes.

They adopted Hightail Spaces to centralize versions and provide on‑screen markup, letting editors and clients pin precise notes for color correction, music and cuts. The team is now on its third project in Spaces, with faster, clearer feedback, fewer email chains, and an easier way to restore and compare cuts — moving toward a Google Docs–style workspace for post‑production.
