AstraZeneca's Discovery Centre (DISC) required high-throughput screening (HTS) automation that was powerful yet flexible and approachable for its scientists. HighRes implemented modular, reconfigurable HTS platforms, including the early development of FlexCart and the use of MicroDocks, which allowed for rapid reconfiguration without a complete system redesign. The Cellario Platform supported complex operations like timing and error recovery. The solution from HighRes had a significant cultural impact by removing physical barriers between scientists and automation, transforming how the organization interacts with its automated systems.
