Sysco, a global foodservice distributor operating 72 operating companies and serving 500,000 customer locations, faced a decentralized A/R process that required manual handling of checks, ACH, wires and remote deposits across OpCos. Using pre-defined ERP algorithms and without leveraging remittance information, Sysco struggled with a low on-invoice match rate (~30–40%), spent roughly half the A/R team’s time on corrections, and had to scan checks multiple times.
