Processing 3 Million Payment Line Items Across Multiple Operating Companies

Sysco, a global foodservice distributor operating 72 operating companies and serving 500,000 customer locations, faced a decentralized A/R process that required manual handling of checks, ACH, wires and remote deposits across OpCos. Using pre-defined ERP algorithms and without leveraging remittance information, Sysco struggled with a low on-invoice match rate (~30–40%), spent roughly half the A/R team’s time on corrections, and had to scan checks multiple times. To address this, Sysco engaged HighRadius and adopted the Cash Application Cloud.

HighRadius implemented a centralized, cloud-based cash application solution including Remote Deposit Capture with AI-based OCR, automated deductions identification and ERP mapping, and a plug-and-play integration model. As a result, HighRadius enabled one-payment posting across OpCos, delivered more than 85% straight-through processing for all payment formats, increased A/R productivity, and dramatically reduced manual exception handling while processing millions of payment line items across Sysco’s operating companies.
