University of Connecticut Secures and Modernizes Campus Network with HID® FARGO® Connect™ and Seos® Technology

The University of Connecticut (UConn) needed to secure its campus network and modernize its one-card system after relying on easily cloned proximity and magstripe cards. With HID Global and its Seos credential technology, UConn sought a phased upgrade that would improve security while preserving existing access and service functions across its five campuses.

HID Global implemented a triple-technology card approach using Seos cards, iCLASS SE readers, and HID FARGO Connect with HDP5600 printers to streamline in-house issuance. The result was a more secure, campus-wide credential system with no disruption to daily operations, support for future mobile access, and the ability to print and encode about 18,000 cards annually in-house while reducing wait times and future issuance costs.
